Big Spoon Roasters: Espresso Butter
Source: Big Spoon Roasters
(Mission Almonds, Peanuts, Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso, Wildflower Honey, Sea Salt)
Our favorite meal, especially in the fall, consists of three things: fresh apple slices, a jar of nut butter, and a cup of coffee. Our first Espresso nut butter, made in collaboration with our across-town friends at Counter Culture Coffee, combines fresh-roasted Mission variety almonds, fresh-roasted Runner peanuts, Counter Culture’s Big Trouble Espresso, raw wildflower honey, and a touch of sea salt to create a richly textured, slightly sweet nut butter highlighted by the perfectly roasted espresso’s signature notes of dark chocolate and caramel.
We’ve noticed that most espresso-infused nut butters out there add vanilla and lots of sugar for a latte-in-a-jar effect. Our approach is simpler and more straightforward, focusing on the tastes and textures of the fresh-roasted nuts and coffee. We hope you like the results as much as we do, and we strongly encourage you to try it spread on slices of your favorite apples.
